Precious moments

Each day that passes by, I notice the littlest things that grow and evolve in each of my children.

  For instance,
It seems that as soon as my newly six year old daughter got her ears pierced, she turned into a little lady. She talks so proper and just acts...grown. It makes me smile but also makes my heart breaks a little inside that she's grown so fast. It doesn't seem possible that my first born, my little seven pounder is now 42 pounds and in 1st grade. Her life up until now has been slow motion and I can remember every one of her stages like it was yesterday. As soon as Abigail came along, the world started spinning faster and time slipped from my hands.

Abigail, the chubby buddha baby weighing 9 pounds 6 ounces is somehow...3. Her stages passed me like the snap of my fingers. *SNAP* so quick. Although I remember a lot of her baby-hood too it almost seems that with every kid on board, the faster life seems to go. I mean, I went from 21 to 26 and I still don't know how the hell that happened. Abigail is such a little tom boy and gives me hell. I love it because thats the spitting image of me and what I put MY parents through. Holy hell am I in for a ride when she turns pre-teen. She speaks so well now . Just the other day she said "actually mom" and my mouth dropped. How did my kid learn all this so quickly?  Just another one that aged so quickly...it keeps getting more and more depressing that they are entering these new stages and will never look back. No longer will they be my babies but my girls, preteens, teens, graduates, ....sigh...holy...toledo. Just when I think it'll all be ok and I draw in a huge deep breathe...oh yeah, anxiety attack all over again. My boys...they aren't quite my little preemies anymore.

Max- Such a vibrant little boy. the smile that reminds me so much of his older sister, kayleigh. His world revolves around me still. I cant complain because its really NOT that far away that the "I don't need you to do that for me anymore mom" stage will peek from behind the wall. I already see it with max. My once itsy bitsy 5 lb 3 oz preemie is all over the place. He NEEDS to pull up standing on everything and NEEDS to show me he can and will conquer those stairs. If I let him. No. I don't want to . I mean, I do but i don't want him growing up. It's inevitable but none-the-less it'll happen whether I like it or not. Max conquered his sippy cup also just a few nights ago and loves clapping "yay" or waving "hello" every chance he gets to.

Does he need help crawling over to that...heck no, he'll use his brother, Micah as a step stool. Poor micah. He hates that. I don't blame him. I'd hate it if another person my same age crawled on top of me to get to something without my permission. My dear sweet Micah-roni. He is such a lover and I don't think he'll ever be a fighter. He's got his dad in him for sure. Looking at him I see Abigail. Its funny how Max resembles Kayleigh as a baby and Micah resembles Abby. Micah learned temper tantrums and fake cries. Yes, this little theatrical display everyday he knows how to win me over. I spoil my babies. If there is such thing as to spoil a baby...ever. I spoil them with love and cuddles. Because a kid, baby, infant can never get too many snuggles. Micah crawls and follows max everywhere. It's like a train and caboose effect. If i go to the bathroom...there it is peeking out from the corner of the door...the M&M train :D . As cuddly as Micah is , he also has an independent streak of not wanting me to feed him anymore. He wants to do EVERYTHING by himself unless he's just feeling lazy.
You would never think looking at my boys now that they were even preemies to begin with. in 3 days my babies will be 10 months. I hate saying it, i hate seeing it, i hate thinking that my babies are gone and these are the beginnings of them turning into little men. I've survived almost the first year with not only twins...but 4 kids. I feel accomplished. Who can say they've done that at 26? however, my body and soul feels older than 26. Shhh, we wont go there ;) We can go into how I am coping though ....

I am mixed. I have a mixture of emotions running around in my heart. Glad, estatic, blessed, sad, lazy and peaceful. I can break them all down too. None of it depressing in the sense that I'm "alone" because we all know with 4 kids that IMPOSSIBLE! haha (a little humor) . Im glad my kids are all so healthy and wonderful. Estatic that my life has been so BLESSED. I am sad that I will never again have the feeling of meeting a new blessing from inside my womb and holding a newborn to my chest again (until its my turn to be a grandmother). Lazy, well hell Im sure why you could figure out why i feel lazy. wouldn't you??? :D and peaceful because no matter the hardships, I feel on top of the world. I feel like I can do anything, and i will to the best of my ability. So I guess its no where but up from here...New beginnings on new stages. Life is so beautiful. With that said, here are some pictures for you all to enjoy <3

Just about 8 months!

I've made it almost a year!

I can't even , I just....there's no words for how fast time has flown and how much love i have for these little guys. They've improved our lives and brought everyone closer.

8 months of sleepless nights, colds, happy smiles and cries. 8 months of...nothing but love.

WHere to even begin?

Micah-roni: What a sweet boy. He has grown to favor his daddy. Although, mommy is still his #1 comforter, he just loves to be with his daddy. He smiles non stop and at the moment , has just about conquered the crawling! He loves his binky and will play with it and put it in his own mouth which is so cute to watch. His appetite is amazing and he loves every baby food I have tried with him. He laughs most when his sisters play peek-a-boo and smacks his hand on the ground or on my chest when im holding him. He's still completely mellow and rarely complains unless he is tired. He plays with his brother occasionally by pulling at his ears or sucking on his arm,elbow,head...Lately he's been saying dada quite a bit and found that he likes sleeping on his belly. All around he's a cuddle bug. Loves holding yourface and giving kisses <3

Maxi:  Max is such a mommy's boy. He has to have me around 24/7 and if not, he'll cry "ma-ma". Pitiful! He loves snuggling with me too and is such a happy boy also. He also enjoy every baby food I have given him and his appetite isn't quite like Micahs, but he still loves it! He still loves playing on his back and playing with his feet/toes. He will talk your ear off with squeals and baby babbles. He's a mimicker. He also just got interested in playing with Micah. Although he tends to be a bully with him and steal his toys out of his hand or be too rough with him. But its mutual and it happens on both ends. The love he has for his sisters is amazing. They both love their sisters immensely. Max has gotten interested in crawling although he gets so mad when he cant reach something that he puts his head down and cries. He also brings joy to my life just like my other children.

( max is eating micahs toy)

Then there is my girls :D

KayBear Graduated kindergarten and is officially a little first grader. She loves holding the boys, popping out of corners and scaring them/making them laugh, you name it and she's the perfect older sister. She loves them to death and always has to tell them good morning when she wakes up. She's my dramatic little stinker and loves tall tales. She is getting so tall and so beautiful its unreal.  Kay is quite the jokester and loves the spotlight. She's such a nurturing little girl and will be the best mommy one day.

Abby : Such a comedian this one is. Although she's at the "terrible 3's" and is very testy, she's a sweetheart. She also wakes up every morning and kisses the brothers good morning. Her and kayleigh love making them laugh and she's such a tomboy like I was. Leave her unattended for a few minutes and there will be quite the mess to clean up so Ive learned not to let her out of my sight for now. She starts preschool in the fall and is excited! Her and kayleigh play non stop practically til bedtime and she wouldn't have it any other way. Im so glad they have each other <3

Back when abby was a baby.

Me: My life has had many ups and downs lately. Probably more downs  than ups but I've learned that nothing is more comforting than family. It doesn't matter what friends I have or who walked out/wanted out on my life, all I need is my tight knit family of 6 . They bring me the most sunshine ever and permeate my world with such love that I don't need anything else. To think a mothers heart can expand so much is just...well, there are no proper words to really describe or fathom it. They say things happen for a reason. I'll have to agree with you. My inner happiness is radiating like I never thought it could . Look at what I have to be thankful for!

My beautiful sister and the boys.

My beautiful niece and Abby <3

-Thank you everyone who reads this and follows me on my journey. My life isn't perfect , and i know I'm far from being myself but I am who I am and thats all that matters. I am a mother and wife first, friend always and just me. <3

Faster than a speeding bullet

As I patiently awaited on the OR table for the arrival of my boys two things happened :

1. I,for the first time during the pregnancy, got uber emotional
2. Started being a little scared that the taking care of 2 babies was fastly approaching.

Then it happened...

I heard the tiniest of tiny cries illuminate my soundwaves. My son Max met the outside world.

then came

Yet another....

Micah arrived safely. I cannot tell you the overflowing emotions that wept through me in an instant. First, fear if anything that my undercooked boys were alright...then curiosity because I had to see who it was that occupied my belly for so long. Time ticked in slow motion until I got to see  their faces. pure beauty they were. In a matter of 34weeks, I was a mother of 4.

skipping ahead and looking into my boys eyes now, it's hard to believe they've grown and defeated some of the obstacles they had.

6 months have literally flown by faster than I could've ever imagined. Bitter sweet it is considering they are the last of my babies. Time has changed their faces and I see their characteristics/personalities shining through those beautiful little smiles.

There has been many ups and downs in the process of them reaching a half a year old. Now that I look at it, the only down really was the sleep and getting them on schedule. Now, it seems easier. I did suffer postpartum depression and battled if for 3 months when one day it decided to rear its ugly head in my direction. I tried fighting it off myself but ended up getting entangled and lost in its darkness. I finally went to the doctor and am doing just fine now. Ive known from the past exactly what it was because unfortunately, I've battled it numerous times. No worries, I am ok now!

I'm gladly enjoying my boys. They are becoming so fun! They now notice each other smile frequently.  Max is 13 lbs and 12 ounces and although you have to work on getting him to smile, once he does its a bashful/shy smile that just melts you instantly. He's very hands on and loves grabbing everything but mostly my face. He's perfectly content on laying on his back or his side to play with his toys. He used to be the one that would cry all the time but now he's so content and will just sit in his chair any play with his toys. He's such a mommies boy and has to have me in plain view or else he will freak. Max Loves baby food and is quite the wiggly boy!!!!

Micah is  14 lbs 2 ounces and such a charmer. You don't have to work much to get him to smile a huge smile and you. He loves just about anyone who talks to him and is extremely mellow. He entertains himself and is such a rolley polley. You cant leave him in his chair without buckling him in or he will wiggle his way practically out on the floor. He's working on perfecting rolling over which is awesome considering they are both technically developmentally only at 5 months. He showed us his laugh, which is precious and is such a daddies boy. He loves sitting on daddies lap and just chilling. He also loves baby food.

I've been making an effort to getting out of the house more and enjoying life with my beautiful children. Each and everyone is so precious to me. My oldest, Kayleigh is turning into such a little woman already. She loves changing her brothers diapers and helping me bathe them. She and Abigail kiss them good morning every single day and the way their brothers look at them is just precious. They all love each other very much. Abigail is doing great also, she plays well with kayleigh and is speaking great! She'll start preschool in the fall and that has me excited for her!
6 months have flown by and soon my little princes will be 1. I love having 4 kids and twins at that.
I'm sorry it has taken so long to get an update with everyone. Life is busy, I'm constantly on go and Its hard to make a video or blog. Now that they are getting much older it should be easier. Thank you all for sticking with me and feel free to leave some love or ask anything you are curious about!!!

4 months!

Holy moly it's about dang time I updated this! I apologize for not posting sooner like I was supposed to but stuff got crazy for awhile as you can imagine with 4 kids.

The boys are officially 4 months old already and I am in disbelief that that much time has passed. It has gone so quickly and they have changed so so much!! They almost look totally different from when they first came home as tiny little peanuts with such skinny little limbs. Now, they are plumped out and completely healthy!
My daily routine with 4 kids since I am sure you guys are curious!!! Well my morning goes like this:
Wake up at 6:45 and change the boys, pump, wake up my husband and kayleigh, feed the boys and put them down for a nap that lasts about an hour-hour and a half, feed abigail and change her diaper, (kayleigh is in school by 7:53, my husband takes her) and enjoy a cup of coffee and some breakfast. THEN they usually wake up for lunch, i do the whole pumping thing again because well, with two its easier. The whole "feed them at the same time on your boob" is...impossible. Let me tell you. I've tried every position possible and it just doesnt work for me. They will nurse during the night time though which is nice. Anyways theyll wake up and play before they eat then its basically non stop all over again! No time to rest unless they are sleeping...which lately it has been on me otherwise they wont sleep at all...yikes.
Its busy but I dont mind it a bit. I am into a routine so stuff is slowly starting to get done. My goal everyday is to at least do one thing like laundry or dishes...or even sweep that way its not too disgusting in this house.

As for the boys:
Micah is about 13 pounds now and long!!! He has such an appetite and eats about 5 ounces every 3 hours! Hard to keep up with. He sleeps well through the night and only wakes up maybe twice. He loves sleeping on his side and coos and smiles constantly. He is such a happy, mellow baby!! He recognized his brother and his toes this month to which he loves staring and smiling at both. If you put him too close to max he will try and eat his arm. It's kind of funny. Micah has also surprised me by learning how to roll over from his tummy to his back! He almost mastered back to tummy but not quite yet!
Little Max is 11lbs and 12 ounces. He is not much behind is brother anymore and is also such a happy thriving baby! He smiles alot and although he doesnt coo just at much, I can tell within his smiles that he is perfectly content when mommy sings to them. He is a wiggler but loves to sleep on his back. He used to be very vocal but had mellowed out quite a bit. they are getting easier which is a blessing!!! He Hasnt showed interest in rolling yet which is kind of nice because with Micah alone, I cant leave him in a bouncer or on the couch without him trying to roll off! Two at once would just be nuts....Cant wait to start the crawling!!! AHHHHHHH!!!

The girls are doing great! Kayleigh is excelling in school and at a first grade reading level and Abigail is talking way way more now and is still...a pill LOL.

Here are some more recent pictures :D

Euphoria

I feel Euphoric. You know that feeling? It's like no matter how many shit storms you go through at once there's a slight bubble you're consumed in. It's peaceful inside that bubble. so no matter whats going on in the outside- you're perfectly safe and content inside its surroundings. Make sense? Thats how I feel. The boys are almost 2 months old and honestly, there have been trials and tribulations this past month but I'm ok with it. I feel I was really meant to have twins. It comes naturally to me just when I thought I was scared and couldn't handle it. They are my blessings. All of my kids are. I still find myself in shock when thinking I have 4 kids at 25. I wouldn't change it for the world though.

 The girls are great.
Kayleigh has had it so rough this season. First she got hit with pneumonia that landed her with oxygen and treatments. Just when we thought she was healthy again, the poor thing caught not only an ear infection, but strep throat at the same time. The same time she also lost someone so dear to her- Her great grandmother. It's been a rough ride for her but she is sticking it out like no ones business. She's such a strong girl and I am so proud of her for hanging in there. She is fine now so I'm hoping she doesn't catch anything else. Her little body needs to build immunities again after all that.
Abigail is a pill. No sugar coating that one. She is the exact replica of me at that age. Tom boyish, rough, and destructive. Oh yes, since moving into this house we have encountered much drawings on all the walls, potted plants being de-leafed and the dirt spread all over the floor, juice all over the walls, markers on the couch- you name it, it's been done and THEN some. I thought having twins would be trying my patience. Nope, leave it to my 2 year old to do that for me. I manage to keep my cool....sometimes. she's hard to handle but she'll come around. Kayleigh did and I have complete faith that she will too. I love that little booger though even though mommy and daddy can no longer have nice things haha.
Max is getting big. He's my first and only blonde hair, blue eyed fair skinned baby. Beautiful. His personality is adorable. He's demanding. Not so much in the sense that he cries about everything...but he lets you know when he's ready to eat. He weighs about 8 pounds now and filling out. He gave me his first initial smile today also. It was amazing. Max will lift his head when he's on my tummy and look at me :D BUT, his "feed me" cry is the most pitiful thing I have ever seen. He loves being cuddled and hates being put down. I don't mind though- i have enough love and cuddles to go around. Micah understands that.  :D
Micah is my mellow chunky monkey :D He is a whopping 9 onus 5 ounces now and getting some chuggy thighs-which are my FAVORITE THING! He's perfectly content sitting in his chair and staring off into space or watching me as I talk to him. I'm surprised I have enough breast milk to go around because he does love to eat. Micah's hair is dark brown and his eyes are also brown. He will also hold his head up and look at me for a while. I love this stage...Smiles are starting from both and I love it.

how's mommy holding up? I am surprisingly. Not an ounce of depression this time around and although I still lack in the sleep department I don't care. I don't lose my patience with both babies crying at the same time because they are my last ones and Im appreciating every little thing I can because I wont get to again. They are my everyday reminders of miracles. Not only because there are two of them but because I believe they were given to me for a reason. Here's what I mean...

13 weeks pregnant and I was told I was not only having two but that they were due november 16,2010.  Such a blessing is two considering I have no twins in my family. I spent months wrapping my head around the reasons why I would be given twins. I was scared and terrified because I had no faith in myself or faith that I could handle 2 more. Months went by and I accepted it. However, I went into labor 6 weeks too early. Why? My pregnancy was perfectly healthy, so why would one small pain turn into full born labor way before I was due? I obviously over analyze everything...I know. But here were these 2 preemie babies in the NICU...not developed in their lungs yet. My heart broke for them. Thankfully they ended up just fine.  skipping ahead- a week into november, my husbands grandma fell ill. No one expected this and being such a tight knit family-it was devastating. She landed in the hospital and as much as we prayed for her to be better, her spirit had other plans. She left us November 16,2010. The day my boys were to be due. had they not been born yet or born a few days before., she would've never had the privilege of meeting them.  I think my due date was a sign. SOunds cheesy but i feel it to be true. Thats why when I look at them, i see their great grandmother in them. Life has so many ways of telling us not to waste a moment or take anything for granted...which is why i enjoy every moment of them right down to their screaming.

in ending, as hard as this month has been with the kids getting sick and the passing of someone very special to us, I feel blessed. everyone is fine and now we are just awaiting the holidays.

30 Days of BLISS!

Special milestones require special font colors! 30 days = green!!!

Today marks exactly 30 days since I went into labor and brought my boys into this world. In hindsight it's interesting knowing and actually experiencing how fast time goes after you have them. They still haven't reached there original due date of november 16, but they are doing wonderful!

I finally have the groove of things and I absolutely love being a mom to not only 4, but to twins. It's so much fun. I get to experience all ages with my oldest to the youngest. Yes, I tend to get sleep deprived but it's ok. I just keep telling myself "this to shall pass" on the sleepless nights. The boys eat every 2-3 hours including at night time. Doesn't bother me because babies have to eat. They had 2 doctors appointments already which everything is wonderful! They no longer need oxygen during the day-only during the night time. Max needs to get an Xray on his hips at his 2 month checkup because he was breech. Just to make sure his hips are ok. Been there, done that with Abigail. She was lodged so tight in my pelvis, she had physical therapy FOR MONTHS! actually, it was more like a year...anyways, I've learned a lot about preemies that I never knew before also. For starters, they have to be seen every week for weight gain, have to see an optometrist to make sure their eyes are fully formed/developed, they have to have 5 doses of rsv shots (one a month for 5 months) since they're higher risk..Busy mama, huh?
Max weighed 5 lbs 3 oz at birth and now weights 6 lbs as of today and Micah went from 5 lbs 13 oz at birth to ....7 pounds! That definitely shows me that they are eating and getting enough! ha. I go through at least 15-20 diapers a day. Gets expensive BUT once I pick up the boys birth certificates i can enroll in special discounts for twins! I'm waiting anxiously for that!
The girls are doing wonderfully also! Kayleigh is doing great in school and keeps scoring high on her tests! She's such a smart cookie! She loves her brothers and tries to hold them every chance she gets. Abigail also loves her brothers but of course for a 2 year old, is more concerned about their toys lol. She kisses the boys on their heads and pets them if she hears them crying. I even caught her trying to shove a binky (pacifier) into max's mouth when he started to cry. Both have such nurturing personalities. I know that someday they'll make awesome mommies.

as for me, my csection site is just about healed. I hate looking at it, but it's a reminder of meeting my boys. The fact that it is so low also doesn't bother me much because it wont be noticeable. Another scar, another story...right? and a beautiful one at that! My 6 week appointment is almost here and that means i'll be able to exercise soon! WOO! I am down almost 30 lbs and just need to rid myself of 30-35 more. I burn 1000 calories a day from breastfeeding alone so I don't think it'll take me too long to get rid of that excess baggage! Although I barely sleep, i feel wonderful and excited to see the kids everyday. It's funny how mommies are programmed to be able to withstand months without proper sleep. Even funnier that we actually love doing what we do. I do.

so that's my update. 1 month down...cant wait to see new milestones within the next month. Thanksgiving will be so fun and christmas will be special. They are my christmas gifts, all my kids are. I feel like since Ive had them, i don't ever need another gift again because I pretty much have all I want. A happy, healthy BEAUTIFUL family. Who could ask for more than that???
